I have a customer who wants me to replace shakes on a cedar roof. It doesn’t seem like its an easy process, or is it? These shingles that need replaced are scattered about the roof, some along side-wall flashing and some in the field. The overall roof is 3200sf and probably needs a square or two replaced. I have done cedar shakes before, but never had to replace any. They also need pressure sprayed and coated with linseed oil. After 21 years, they were never maintained. The shakes are up to 3/4 of an inch thick. What is a good square footage cost to replace, as far as labor goes? Thanks for your advice.
