I replaced the roof on my modified salt box with a metal roof last year. My old gutters just don’t work now… During the winter, melting snow and ice slid off with a great deal of force and actually dislodged some of the gutter. Moreover, I had to remove the leaf guard when the new roof was installed so cleaning became an issue.
I was wondering what type of leaf proof gutter system I should install.

This should be right up Rick Beckman's alley...

I hate gutters or anything to do with them.
One solution used sometimes is to place roof gaurds/ice gaurds on the roof to keep snow from sliding off like that.
Excellence is its own reward!
Install snow guards to keep the snow from sliding like Piffin said and if you're installing new gutters try to install them slightly below the roof plane so the snow slides might shoot right over them, but the rain will drop right in.
