   Not a pro but I moonlight putting down some  floors.  I have used both and prefer the staplers. 

   However there are about 100 guys that are going to jump all over this and say nails/cleats.

   I can say buy a good one versus a cheapie.  Harbor Freight ones are dangerous (have seen one literally blow apart when hooked up to 90 psi).

   Personally I prefer the nailers, but either is acceptable.  Make sure you get a pneumatic assisted model.
