What to do with old Light Circuits?
Still in the middle of the basement remodel. Latest question is what can I do with the old circuits for the existing lights. I can definitely remove some of them which I plan to do but there are other branches that disappear into the floor/wall upstairs that are impossible to remove. Based on what the breakers turn off I’m not even sure what they are connected to up there(as in I haven’t found anything that gets turned off when I turn off that particular circuit downstairs).
Everything seems to be in armored BX cable so I’m not that concerned about the wiring itself. I just don’t know what to do with the existing lights/boxes that I won’t need anymore. I’m going to trace it all back and see if I can just run the new light setup off the existing cables but can anyone give me any other options or suggestions?
Thanks
Tom

It doesnt hurt anything but your eyes to leave them there.
Let's try it one more time.
If you reuse the boxes for junction boxes then you need to keep them accesible.
Or you can just abandon them. If you do that you need to see that the feed is cut off at the last place where the circuit is still active.
