I’ve been thinking for a little while now about what tools a small building company should have, other than what’s in the tool bag, for production work. Ignoring that all some people need is a hammer and a leatherman. What do you think? What from my list would you add or subtract?
here’s my list:
b Tools for a small building company:
sliding compound miter saw
circular saw (ie framing saw)
small circular saw (ie trim saw)
reciprocating saw (sawzall)
jigsaw
small bench/table saw
router or laminate trimmer
4″ grinder
power plane
orbital sander
belt sander
impact wrench
roto-hammer
1/2″ corded drill
cordless drill
right-angle drill
close-quarters drill
framing nailer
finish nailer
air stapler
compressor and air hose
transit (for surveying)
work lights
shop vac
ladders tall and short
power cords and 3-way tails
truck or van
trailer (for tools and/or material)
computer
camera
calculator
cell phone/pager
motorcycle (for client meetings)
