I’ve read here about pressure treated woods and the problems with fasteners that can corrode.
On my recent project I used Borate sp? treated wood for the bottom plate so I could use steel fasteners.
If the bottom plates are out of the dirt is it ok to use the borate treated wood? Most of the time I build I don’t put wood in direct contact with soil. On this project the plates sit on a concrete pad that has soil maybe 1 1/2″ below on the side of the slab.
When would you consider not using borate and going with CA or ACQ?

Borate treated lumber can't be used anyplace that it is subject to repeated wetting; Ie, anyplace outside.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
It won't be getting wet. It will have Hardie panel covering it. Do some builders use borate a lot? Is it less expensive? That's what the lumber yard said.

I have not used it so I don't know what the cost it.but one big advantage is that there no concern about the type of fasteners..
