what’s that little plane called…

homebaseboston | Posted in Tools for Home Building on

that builders use(d) to create a small divot for sinking a finish nail before rolling the wood back over the nail and gluing.  Saw it on TOH many moons ago and always thought it was a good idea.

    Violin plane, or I have used a carving gouge to partially lift a chip. Only with the grain.
