I’m looking at a beam 12′ x 4″ x 16″ LVL with the two brackets
I got a quote recently I thought was somewhat high.

I used a thousand feet of 1-3/4 X 16'' LVL in a building I recently framed. I shopped and shopped and the best price I could find was 5.05 / ft. Girder hangers were around 25.00$ each. So if you doubled these beams you wold have a 3-1/2 X 16'' @ 10.10 / ft. Times 12' is only 121.20 plus at worst case scenario I had to emergency ship two girder hangers with over night at 75.00 a piece. So I would say the is high. I would bet it is high because it is not a stock item, and I'll bet they're are nailing you on those hangers. Even if you tripled the LVL I described you would come in well under the 385.00$ you were quoted. I used Roseburg Forest Products and I'm located in Washington DC.
thanks I just got another quote this time at 9.31 a linear foot. Which is in line with yours. I appreciate your input.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
