In a cold, cold climate, on well-drained gravelly soil, we’ll build a new home using in-slab hydronic heating. Recommend for me what my spec should be for what goes under the 4″ slab. My thought was, beginning with undisturbed earth, compacted gravel (spec?, thickness?), rigid foam (type, density, thickness), then the slab. What about a moisture or vapor barrier?
