Anyone have any experience with wheatboard? I think that’s the term for the mdf substitute that’s made with wheat straw. We are inching toward more grren buildings, and that item was mentioned.

seems more of a substitute for particle board, rather than MDF, at least from the stuff
I've tried, but the particles seem finer.
Smells like graham rackers when you cut it
I've done a couple of Kaiser Medical buildings and they had several walls that were paneled with stained wheatboard. Looked real nice. I think Kaiser was manufacturing it.
I don't think it is meant as a replacement for mdf, such as formica underlayment, although I might be wrong. Didn't seem to have the same density. I did not install it, but saw it going in and checked it out a little.

Trust in God, but row away from the rocks.
It was available around here as bullnosed, painted shelving. I made some small tower type units with it. It's not very strong. My shelves are in a seldom used guest room. I don't think the painted surface would hold up to constant use. I wouldn't make unsupported shelves much longer than 2' with it. It's not in the same league with particle board as far as strength and surface smoothness. I can't think of anything that it might be good for other than cheap, very cheap, shelves.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
