i am finishing up the stucco on a house and am trying to figure out when to paint it….3 coats of cementatious mortar over lathe over tyvek……should i wait a while to let it cure or go ahead and spray now? if i wait, it is going to mess up my job schedule, but i don’t want to rush and do the wrong thing………
thanks y’all

There are elastomeric paints to conceal the inevitable shrinkage cracking, follow the guidelines of the manufacturer. Sorry, can't recall the manufacturer now.
I'm curious as to why you are doing new stucco with the idea of painting it instead of using colorants in the final color coat?
Stucco takes 28 days to cure (see brochure at http://www.lahabrastucco.com/PDF/ext_stucco_color_coat.pdf)
You didn't fill out your profile, so I can't tell what area you are from, but if the air is dry where you are, you should spray the set stucco with the garden hose frequently to aid in getting a full cure. (see paragraph c3 in the above linked document.)
One does NOT paint real stucco. One fog coats it.
hey, thanks y'all.....
i would have loved to have mixed in the color, but the archy convinced the clients that the color would be 'splotchy' and not match their paint chip exactly....blah,blah
what is a fog coat? and don't answer 'one of those blue double breasted navy deals'!
yes, i'm going to use elasometric paint....how long to wait?
thanks again!

Elastomeric paint seals up the breathability of real stucco. Some believe it shortens the lifespan of the siding and retains any moisture to result in mold damage.
But, hey, it's your house! Not mine.
Elastomeric paints are used when old stucco is on it's last leg.
I grew up in L A and there are lots of old houses hanging together with paint.
If you need to paint it I'd do a minimum coating to get a uniform color.
The La Habra coating sounds right. I've been to La Habra.
Stucco is supposed to breath.

Stucco is usually over block in Florida, you want it to seal.
The rule of thumb in SW Fla is minimum one week. It has to do with the pH of the curing mud from what I understand
