Where the heck does my heading go? Sometimes it just disappears and I cannot log off. Nothing seems to bring it back. Except hanging up and re entering the BT.

EDIT: It just came back after posting this note. Curiouser & curiouser!

Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks
Repairs, Remodeling, Restorations.
I have had problems where the download stops and does not finish loading.
But I don't think that I have every had to close and re-enter.
Depending on what you where doing at the time. If it was bring up a new message thread then click on that thread again in the index will bring it back, but some times it takes two or 3 or 4 tries.
If it was when I get the GO button for Show Display or after I have posted a message then the Messages button will refresh the whole display.
Bill: I think you gave me the key. What is missing is the Taunton Pres Masthead & the row of blue ovals saying "Start, login..." etc. It happened after posting a message. Next time I'll try clicking on MESSAGE.
Thanks

If the little icon at the top is still whirling, hit the "stop" button of the browsr. Then hit the "go button beside the url to start the refresh. (Do not use the "refresh" button.)
This should bring the header back.
I think the problem is that Prospero has too much traffic. Or else they have cut down the traffic capacity for taunton. Soemthing like that.
Point is that you can make a request, and it can hang in limbo forever, because it went in at just the right moment to get blocked by the bottleneck.
That particular request may hang for a long time, or even eventually come back with an error message. Meanwhile, other requests made at the same time, or after yours are being answered...
(Your header is gone, because it hasn't been downloaded yet. Your "request" hasn't finished yet...)
Sometimes the only thing to do is to stop the process, then start over again with the "go" button. Otherwise you wait forever for the process to finish, or error out, then have to start again, anyway....

What's the difference between hitting 'refresh' and 'go'? Just curious, I don't know. I thought it would do the same thing.
I never met a tool I didn't like!
I've hit refresh many times, and just had the page redone from temporary files. That doesn't always solve the problem.
I think "go" makes it start new, and it certainly seems to work better.
