I have an old house with a fieldstone and brick foundation. It has a walkout basement at the back with a concrete stem wall/wood framed wall. I am rebuilding the wood framed wall for various reasons. At the left and right sides the wood framing meets the brick and fieldstone part of the foundation. These surfaces are certainly not plumb and aren’t straight either so framing up to them leaves a lot of big gaps on the order of inches. I need to seal the wood to the rock and brick.
The brick/fieldstone does turn the corner to the back from both the left and right foundation walls so there is about a foot of foundation wall at each end of the rear wall before the center framed section.
What is the best way to make a lasting seal?

How about photos of the condition9s) you're wanting to address.
Get as close as you reasonably can with the framing, then scribe and cut plywood sheathing or whatever to fit (being sure to leave an appropriate gap for caulk). Fill the gap behind the sheathing with stuffed fiberglass or squirt foam.
Or you can get fancy and saw cut the stone to allow you to insert some flashing.
The face of the framing for the wood wall is about flush with the face of the irregular brick. I think I can just extend the ZIP sheathing past the wood framing and out over the face of the brick for a couple inches. I will be left with a small gap, probably 1/4" between the back of the sheathing and the brick. If I just fill this gap with can foam I think I should be alright. Hopefully this is a sufficient break to prevent moisture from migrating through the brick and into the sensitive OSB.
