The attached photo shows a house that I’m currently remodeling. The single back door has been removed and the double window is being replaced with double french patio doors that will lead out onto a fairly large deck. Brick veneer is scheduled to be installed soon.
Should the ledger board for the deck be installed directly to the sill prior to the installation of the brick veneer, or should the ledger be attached to the brick after veneering the entire wall?

How will the brick neneer be supported?

Perimeter footing at grade level and wall ties from the sill up.New knowledge is priceless.

With a footer that close, I would forget the ledger penetrating my envelope and support on the footer

I would prefer to install ledger directly to sill.
Be sure to flash it well.
That haircut, and a time out. All in the same week.
Sucks to be you.
Yup, I'd build the deck independent of the house.
What Piffin said, but raised one to: Just put piers in and cantilever back to the house. You will never have better access that what that house has right now.
No envelope penetrations, either--big plus.
Also, scheduled right, the mason does not call you up a tad cranky about how he's supposed to veneer past your deck ledger.
Here, the BI would make me frame from the brick "foundation" to the bottom of the rims between the piers to support sheathing for required brick tie spacing. DensGlas and light-weight galvanzied framing would pass, but it would have to be there.
