In another thread I talked about installing some 8-1/2″ YP T&G floor boards in the kitchen. DW has agreed to face nailing. I am going to snap chalk lines after the boards are down and use two nails at each joist, 2-1/2″ long.
Looking at the Tremont site, there are several choices. Many of them list face nailed flooring as an application. So which one do I use? I’m looking at either the fire door nails or the commons, leaning toward the fire doors because there are more to a pound.

I used the roseheads. Still have about 20 # left. too bad you don't live closer I'd sell em' to you at a discount.
I thought the roseheads looked the nicest of all of them but its just a matter of taste.

Andy, what length nails do you have? I need about 700 nails. The Tremont site says 2-1/2" roseheads come 68 per pound, so I would need about 11 pounds. Wouldn't mind making a deal with you.

Tremont says 50 nails/lb. So I need about 14 lbs. Your call. If you want to let go some of yours, tell me how much + shipping.

Recently did a floor (760 sf) and had looked at several sites for nails and found that a 50# box was averaging $120 plus shipping.
Visited my local lumberyard and asked about square cut masonry nails (3") and picked up the 50# carton for $63...no freight cause it came in the next weeks delivery to the yard.
Their supplier was Orgill Bros. out of Memphis. Do-It-Best used to stock same. Also found out that masonry and concrete material suppiers also stock.
Predrilled the salvaged 1927 ship lapped yellow pine to prevent splitting, all over 30# felt, 3/4 OSB t&G, on I-joist.
Primed with an oil enhancer and then poly urethaned x 3 coats.

Use a white chalk line to snap your lines, it cleans up much easier. It's worth having a dedicated caulk line for red, white and blue.White is also good for snapping lines on finished wall for stair rail brackets
