Which professional to consult for sagging along exterior wall?
There is a solid 1.5inch drop along the one side wall from the exterior inward. Is this something to be examined by a structural engineer? Foundation repair? A framer?
There doesn’t appear to be any risk to integrity, but really a symptom of some settling over the past 43 years I imagine. I guess this block wall didn’t settle as much as the rest of the house, as everything else is pretty level across the board. However, this one side is significant. The beam in the basement is still resting on the block cutout fine it seems, but the top sill board has some gap at the T cross from block to the beam framing. I plan to re do the flooring on the first floor within the year, and put built ins along this wall. So technically I could use self leveler when I bolster the subfloor, or cover it up with the bookshelf on an angle. The fireplace hearth on the other half of the wall may be the culprit as well. HEAVY and some cracking at the corner mortar joint.
