I've used a Bostich coil nailer for years and haven't had a problem with it.
Dave
Bostich hs been good to me...
Here fishy fishy....
I too have had good luck with my Bostich, but I think my Hitachi blows it away....little extra cash though.
Curious as to why you wouldn't go with another Max though? Aren't they the cat's azz?
I have the Hitachi and like it a lot but the Max could sink with power to spare which was great for concrete siding.
I will probably buy another one but their four hundred bucks which makes me want to ask if the other manufacturers have something comparable.
Or if anybody can recommend a better setup for concrete board I'd like to find a gun that shoots big head nails up to 3 inch long.
Has anybody found the Max website my search thru google has come up with some for sale in the UK but no home site?

And I just bought that sucker at the Builders thingy in Worcester. Sitting in the shop, box long gone. Maybe I can return it in Providence...
I never met a tool I didn't like!
hey, nick.... maybe it's just me... i just had trouble loading it... it's a lot different than the other guns... some of the features are cool... the loading flip down is what throws meMike Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
Andy, Hitachi's newer (NV 75AH ?) coil siding nailer is what I use to install FC. Of course the head on the SS nails is not as big as a roofer, but it will shoot up to a 3" coil nail. Careful though, the older NV65AH will not shoot the larger nails. As long as the framing is in decent shape (relatively flat) I don't have a problem blind nailing the FC tight. An occasional face nail into a stud on the bad spots does occur.
For the record, you said that your Hitachi roofer didn't compare well power-wise to your Max. I have got to say that my Bostich doesn't keep up with my Hitachi for power. Stands to reason then that Bostich probably wouldn't be a very good choice for you.
I could have sworn that I've always drooled at http://www.maxusa.com . But when I tried that URL, I got nothing. Wonder what's up. If you should find the new address or if I just have it wrong, please let me know.
diesel.... max willl be offering show discounts at jlc-providence...

Only when she catches me! Lucky my home office is upstairs so I either hear her coming or old Mulligan (my german shepherd) let's me know....that way I can click back to 1-800Flowers.com real quick.
"oh honey I was gonna surprise you too....shucks, guess I'll just spend the coin on this dumb old framing gun instead" :)
I found it under maxusacorp.com.

I don't know about nailing siding, but that new bostitch has been sweet for us (even though the new guy nailed me in the ankle a few months back).
We've had no problems with jams or double firing and the depth setting and shingle reveal work great. Loading was pretty intuitive, and seemed easy enough for everyone to get used to. We just finished up an 84 square and it sure was a lot nicer to cary around all day than some of the older nailers.
max or hitachi. its like maxcorpusa or something. hard to google. I found the link off of nailzone.com
Andy- We've got an older (5-6 yrs.) Makita that I swear by. We've used it for F.C. siding, backerboard installs, & even roofing. (Novel, huh?) A friend of mine tried a Hitachi last year when he was putting F.C. siding on his garage, but had trouble with it setting nails consistently. He returned it, & bought a Makita- so far he loves it.
