anyone else have these pcs of junk. i’ve got about 12 of them in rentals, 40 gal,nat gas ,”flameguard”.sold at lowes.
these things have recalls on them and they will send you the parts, but what should be a appliance that maybe needs 1 thermacouple in 10 years instead i’m working on them once a year x12.
i’ve about got all the recalled burner assemblys replaced, now the valves are going bad.
so whats a good brand of gas hot water heaters?

150 bucks is a pipe dream.
My main two weapons of choice are AO Smith & Bradford White.
i'm thinking of going with bradford white. a place sells them here thats pretty decent to deal with.
6 yrs ago when they were going to the new stlye heater i bought 7 of the old stlye to have on hand,145.00. wish i'd bought 25 of them.the older i get ,

A.O. Smith would be my choice, until just recently there were no Bradford White dealers in this area. So I don't have experience with them.
Our government isn't letting any one build a good gas water heater under 75 gallons. They are required to have a sealed combustion chamber now. This increases the service required to maintain them, the burner has to be removed and the air intake screen has to be blown out with compressed air. Avoid placing them in area's where dryer lint or dust may cause the screen to plug.
