Approximately 18 months ago we installed cherry flooring in a new construction.
It was finished with natural Duraseal and 3 coats street shoe satin poly.
Light colored spots appeared quite frequently throughout the finish.
On close inspection it appears that someone may have used a none drying putty instead of a filler on the flooring and saddles. Niether the installer or finisher takes responsibility.
Has anyone had this happen and how do we correct without refinishing the entire 3200sf?

Deb,
Could you tell me exactly the type of sealer your used? Is it oil or water poly, varnish, urethane, lacquer? Check the can.
Do the marks look cloudy? And what type of formation, does it look like a spill, or a patch or burst?
