I went to a local lumber yard to buy 3/4 cabinet grade Red Oak plywood….support the local guy and stay away from the questionable stuff at HD and Lowes. Nobody at the yard could tell me the origin of the product. I was able to read the stamp on the edge of the plywood. I googled it and found it to be a trademark of a US company. I went to the company’s web site and their write-up on the plywood stamp……made in China in their own plant. I have a hard time believing that nobody at the local yard knew the origin of a product they sell. If the US company owns and runs a plant in China then maybe the plywood is ok. Based on what I have read about ‘made in China’ I would not have purchased the plywood from that yard had I known its origin.
How do you know who to trust? I’m not in the ‘trades’ so I don’t have an ongoing relationship with a lumber yard or any trades people.

but the ambition to change things has to be in your court. They don't have, can they get it? If they can, why not? We are in a battle for survival (and if they don't know it, pity them) and that means more than just a "good deal".
