Some time ago, here, JLC, somewhere, I saw an extension cord that had an outlet molded into it like every 7 or 8 feet. Nobody here carries nor has ever heard of such an animal, but it still strikes me as a very useful concept. Any idea who makes that thing?

Saw them the other day at Lowes.
I see them every year when the Xmas decorations go on sale. We have a green one that handles the 6-7 strings of lights on the tree.
Sam's club carries them they are green and made by

I see that it is only a 14 GA. That is only good for Christmass tree lights, not tools

It is still rated at 15 amp and I only run one tool at a time on it so not a big deal.Probably better than running three extension cords off of a splitter and certainly less to tangle up in.
But I am not saying that a heavier gauge is not wiser.
I usually run my compressor on a different outlet on a different circuit on a 10 guage cord.

RW,
Yellow Jacket makes a 25' 12ga with 3 outlets. I got mine at Home Despot.

I just saw that same one at our new Lowes for $36.95
I just got two of them at Walmart--Christmas closeout. They are 15 feet and have a couple or few outlets--havent openedthem yet but just what I need sometimes. Your local store may still have some, mine does.
Both Home Depot and Sams carries them by electrac. I've gotten the 14ga green one's at Sams for $4.51 each a few years ago, and just last year, Home Depot dropped their price on the 12ga yellow versions for $10 each! I told everyone I knew and they'd say, I got enough cords... idiots - these are the handiest cords - I use them every single day.Plus, they're very flexible, even in cold weather. As I already had 2-3 14ga's, I only bought 2 12 ga ones - but I wish I bought more - it was a hell of a deal. (HD's regular price on the 12ga yellows was $39-49)JT
I remember that post and promptly went to HD on a mission
but they had already returned to the normal price.
or I'd have happily posted in the -=+ What BARGAIN did you spot today +=- thread.Peace out.
When I'm on the job and the outlets are a distance away- I'll have a 10Ga 50' cord to my work area, and then the 12ga multi outlet and I can simultaneously have my table saw, mitersaw, air compressor, charger plugged in all at once.I just make sure that when I'm using the table saw or miter saw the air compressor turned off. They are worth $40 to have one for as handy as they are.JT
