Here goes. Swore I never would do wood floors over radiant unless it was
either quarter sawn at 2-1/4″ or real wood engineered laminate. Have already bid out job, 380sq ft guest room. Random width wide plank reclaimed oak to match
existing. Originally forced air, now client wants to explore infloor radiant. This seems to be too small of a job to have the wood pressed up for an engineered floor, which has been my backup plan if I was ever asked to do this.
Wood floor sub swears he has used mastic with nails on wide plank over
radiant with success and minimal movement. Has any one had experience with
this method? Is their some other method that anyone has used that they felt was good or bad?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Ron
