I just tried to post a reply and got a message “You are posting too fast. Slow down.” Or something like that. I should have taken a screen shot. WTF????

Mike,
I’ve given up trying to understand.
We used to be able to edit our message. Now, no more.
There’s a group of fictitious site developers that fail to respond to any question I’ve asked. There is an occasional pop up that asks you to take a survey. I thought I’d give my contact info to it in hopes someone reads that stuff.
Nope.
Have a good day.
I thought it was just me that couldn't edit. That's why I keep replying to my own messages
Well at least now I know also that they didn’t just get fed up with all my questioning and decided to f with me.

Ancient posts seem to resurect themselves. A ghost in the machine???
I am pretty sure the forum is resurrecting the old threads to make it look like people are still active on here, even though most (recent) posts now only get a reply or two, if they are lucky. No long discussion like the old days..
Hi Mike, I just put in a request to get an edit button added to the individual post pages. If you go to your profile (in the upper right corner of the page where you log in), there should be an edit button for each of the posts you've made, but it would make much more sense to have one on the actual post. I don't know why there isn't. Can't speak to the "ghost in the machine" either. My guess is that happens when someone stumbles upon an old post in a Google search and replies to it.

Hey Guys,
Edit buttons should be showing up now, both on posts and replies. You should also be able to delete your own replies. Let me know if that's not the case.
Thanks,
Rob
Test of the edit button in posts made....using an iPad just outside Estes, Colorado........beautiful yet windy camp day.
Edit: it does work on a new post, but doesn’t revert back to prior posts made I don’t think.
Hey Calvin,
I believe that comments/replies can’t be edited indefinitely. So maybe only the ones you’ve posted in the past week or so would have the edit button. I’m not sure what the reasoning is for that, but it seems like a common feature in Wordpress-based forums.
Hope you’re enjoying the Rockies. Are you in Rocky Mt. National Park? I’ve been there a couple times, but it’s been maybe 20 years since my last visit.

Yes rob, the park is beautiful but now the weekend might prove to crowd it up. Returning from the Alpine visitor center yesterday put us in the middle of an hour and a half stop due to alternating traffic through a work area. Nice view from our standstill.
A big hat tip to the flagger as we were at the end of those through, with a couple miles strung behind us.
Gone 3 more weeks in the wild. Long drive.
Visited here earlier, noticed changed format right off.
That message likely admin-related choice to prevent machinegunned DOS-type attacks. Even legitimate forum members can’t send posts in too-rapid succession or risk triggering that pause message. Seen it elsewhere, other forums.
(And yes, I see an edit option in both mobile and desktop versions.)
Hey Calvin, if you are at Estes, and happen while driving to the peak you happen to see a motel with a giant rocking chair in the front, think that is Mr Fixit's place (a regular from long ago).
