Wimpy Worklights

Is there a worklight out there that will last more than 2-3 years without falling apart, overheating and toasting switches, etc.

I've yet to find one. Mine usually last about a year.

I like the wobble light.  Have only had mine for about 4 years, but it has held up fine.

Amazon has them for sale now, too.

They look like they would hold up.

Got a set from a rental yard having a liquidation auction about 8yrs ago, still going strong with the same bulbs. Don't know the brand name but they just look like the standard 500w halogens on a 6' tripod until you start extending. The darn things extend to 15' high. That was a wonderful surprise when I got home and tried them.

Yes there is, but I have to find it. I think it's called a Bulldog (or that's the co). Anyhow I was on the trail of it just today and I'll let you know. The GC that I do sub work for has one and it's great.

      I'll 2nd the Bulldog....

One tip I picked up a few years back....replace the 500 watt bulbs the "cheapies" come with and are "rated" for and use 300 watt.  A bit less heat, ample light and longevity.  Then, the issue with the cheapies is not the bulbs, but the frame falling apart!

But, again, the bulldog is a well built work light.

Thank you for the "enlightenting" info :>)

Here it is. It's the little Heavy duty floor one for $100. It's really indestructable and worth every penny.

I like the single fixture work lights, but I too got tired of spending $30-40 for such a light at one of the big box stores, only to see it fry in a year or two.

So, I sprung for the Bulldog below -- at about $100. So far it has probably outlasted about 3 of the cheaper lights; another year and I'm (finally) ahead.
