Hi Folks: I built a round barn sash. It is single strength glass with a “global” bar and mutton pattern. I put a plexi storm on the inside with 2 small ( 1/16 ) holes for air flow. Anyway it seemed to work well last year ie. very little condensation on inside of sash. This year I just noticed quite a bit more. When it melts during the warmer day temps it forms a puddle. This can’t be good when it refreezes etc. Is there anything I am missing. This is in my shop office, interior temp ~ 63, outside last night it went down to about 10. Any suggestions, thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

Which window are the 1/16" holes in? To minimize condensation in a heating environment you want the vents in the outer window to allow the humidity from inside that passes by the inner window to escape outside where the humidity is lower. It sounds like your holes are in the inner pane which increases the amount of humidity that can reach the outer window. If that is the case, plugging the holes in the inner pane is a start.
You are right the holes are inside. I will tape over them and perhaps drill the sash. Any thoughts on size, location etc? Thanks, Bob
