Hey all,
I’m planning on replacing a window with a door of the same width in my master bedroom. The rough opening is 6-ft. Would you expect that the existing header for the window is sufficient for the new door, or should this be strengthened? If so, any recommendations?
Thanks in advance for the input!

If the header was adequate for the window, it'll be adequate for the door.

Normally you would be able to pop the door in, but with one proviso - check for deflection of the header before you actually remove the window. Measure the size of the gap at both ends and then check that the middle is the same. If within ¼" that would be acceptable.
All the best...
To those who know - this may be obvious. To those who don't - I hope I've helped.
