I am looking for a good source for window film for my 2 sun rooms. I have 18 windows to do. I would like to keep the costs down but eliminate a lot of heat transfer and block UV. Thanks in advance.

We did the windows on our house that get the most sun a few months ago. Big difference. The brand name escapes me but we got it at Lowes. it has a silver reflective tint to it that makes it look like it isn't gonna look good. But part of that comes off when you apply it. It's still got a slight silver quality but not real noticable. Pain in the butt to get on right. But the results made it well worth the trouble.

Thanks Gunner, Squarepeg and Jay.
fyi .. reflective coatings may cause premature failure of thermopanes by overheating ..
Best ones I've run across are made by 3M. Be sure to get the right tools to apply. Spray bottle and squeegie are a must. When we applied RTA vinyl, our installers used spray windex on the application side, because it makes the material "slidable" until it dries - application is easier.
3M Sun Control, iirc.
If you will ever need to remove it, KwikShade works great, easy to apply and easy to remove. It's a static cling material.
Solar screens work well, too.
Most films have been around for awhile. Yes 3M makes the best stuff. It isn't hard to to apply at all. Only caveat is each manufacturer has some different procedures for their product. Get the manufacturers instructions and follow to the letter. As an example some prohibit you from cleaning the windows before application with Windex and some don't. Hardest part is just cleaning the windows before you apply the film.
Where can you get the 3M film. That last that I looked it was only available to their "certified" installers? And most of the other films seemed to be the same. The only off the shelf film that I know of is http://www.gilafilms.comThat is the stuff sold at HD and Lowes. The website compares all of the different varieties..

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
I've bought 3M from the big box stores ... albeit many years ago. Easy to install ... make sure you follow the instructions, though. Works GREAT! and inexpensive! You have to take care w/ insulated glazings, though (many films are for single glass or double glass that is not hermetically sealed (e.g. storm windows).
