Hello,
I have a 9’x 20′ enclosed porch that I need to replace the rotten window sill. The problem appears to be were the corners of the sill are mitred which allows the rain to seep between the sill at the front of the porch with the sill at the side of the porch. What is the remedy for this? I was thinking some kind of cap/flashing to cover the joint.
Thanks,
Mike

How about a photo or drawing of the area in question?
Is this an actual window sill (right below a window) or is it a rail continuous around the house that is includes the window sills? I guess what I'm asking, is it anything like the corner in the picture I'm including?

if so, there needs to be a peice of flashing that channels water from the siding above out onto the top of the trim, and a drip edge on the trim that makes the water drip off at the edge.

Zak,
Yes, that's exactly it, only with the windows all the way around, no siding. 4x4's for the corner posts. I'm new here and I didn't realize I could post a picture. That would have been much easier.
Thanks to everybody.
