Quick question: what’s the thinking on sealing the bottom of a replacement window if you use a sloped sill pan? There is an article by Rob Moody on the ‘how to’ page which discusses how to waterproof a sloped sill pan, and he says to not caulk the bottom so water can drain….but there is a picture later where someone is spraying foam into the bottom opening. Wouldn’t this negate the sloped sill, and if water gets behind the window, trap it there?
Doing some windows now, and sloped sill pans are a new technique to me. Thanks.

I would not spray the pan full of foam, that's just going to hold any water that gets in there. If possible, install some backer rod form the inside, to the inside of the wall.
Thanks David. That's confirmng what I was thinking.
