Windows and Doors: where to go for deals
Ive seen a couple of low cost building ideas recently and would apreciate some ideas for finding inexpesive, quality windows and doors.
Please share some ideas or places youve had luck finding windows and doors. I’m planning on replacing front and back entry doors and possibly a few windows this summer. Close out, extras’s, returns, slightly odd sizes or colors are all fair game.
Thanks

Where do you live? I know once a month in Baltimore there is a building supply auction that is loaded with over runs and other items. They have an abundance of doors and windows. I also know of a place in PA called the big ugly warehouse. They sell windows and doors on the cheap. I bought a steel entry door there a year or so ago and it has been fine.
Once people know where you live they can better guide you to places to find deals.
What's the name of the auction in Baltimore? One of my customers mentioned the auction. He said he skips the actual auction and shows up Sunday and they have everything, that's left, marked for a quick sale. He told me the name of it and it now eludes me.........View Image

they get builder surplus as well as used the stuff they dont need for new construction they sell , I stop at the local one several times a week , rare for me to leave empty handed
Come on down to Walton Building Supply, In Monroe, GA. Weird place, but lots of good 20-30 year old new contractor surplus. lots of neat circle tops and odd bits.
I took a big trailer load of doors and trim to MD 18 years ago from them, and it was a great deal.
