windows and installation for high wind/water conditions
I have a house in a high wind and driving rain area that was built 7 years ago. Two sets of “high quality” triple glazed aluminum clad wood windows have failed (leaks and damage inside the house). The window companies have worked with us, acknowledged the window failures and we’re working on a settlement. We would like replacement window suggestions and any “must dos” on installation. We want to stay with a wood window as we need to match interior wood finishes.

What was the failure (detail on the point of water entry).
There are companies that offer wood interiors on non wood frames.
Andersen has had a good track record under conditions like you describe.
We bought Milgard fiberglass windows for our wind and rain exposed house. The company also offers a wood-clad model. This company makes a good product but their customer service is regrettable.
No matter which window you ultimately choose, it is the installation detailing that will make or break the deal.
