Wiring thermostat to new wall heater
Gosh, I can’t believe I’m hung up on this particular task (at my own house), but please, somebody, give me a pointer as the manuals are worse than poor. It seems to me like a thermostat is just a fancy switch, and swiches, generally are wired in-line, ahead of the switched devise. What I’ve got is a Cadet forced-air, 120v, in-wall heater and a standard digital thermostat. Do I simply lead power (yes, I did install a new, separate 15a breaker for this appliance) to the thermostat and pigtail those wires to the heater? Is it that simple?

Brickie,
Simplest way is to use a line voltage thermostat and wire it like you said. Most common thermostats run from a transformer to a contacter to power up heaters and AC units.
Box stores carry line voltage stats.

Note that you need a LINE VOLTAGE thermostat -- you can't use a standard low-voltage unit. (You can try, but the new thermostat won't last 15 seconds.)
