Can someone please tell me the difference between wonderboard and backerboard? I plan on installing 20″x20″ porcelin tile on my kitchen floor, which will be laid over a 3/4″ subfloor. Does anyone know which is the strongest of the two boards? Thanks for the help!

Although different products, I am not aware of any specific functional difference between the two, and they are typically used interchangeably. It is usually a matter of personal choice or availability that determines which one you use.
Perosonally I like Hardicbacker, it cuts a little easier and cleaner and there is a 1/4" product available which is sometimes useful, but I'm sure others have reasons they like the wonderboard.
With the Wonderboard if you use it there is a rough and smooth side. Use the the smooth face if your using Mastic, and the rough if you're using thinset.
I agree with DML.
Matter of personal preference.
I also prefer hardibacker.

Is that floor rigid enough for 20 X 20's? I thought 1-1/4 was the minimum sub floor thickness.
