There is a Multi-Dwelling Unit project right near my workplace. This is a project with hundreds of dwellings. There is also a prefab concrete garage that is three stories tall. The wood structures of the MDU are in direct contact with the concrete of this garage. I would have thought that this would have been a no-no.
The design, overall, seems strange. One could park on the top-deck of the garage, hop up onto the concrete railing, and then hop again (about 12-24″) and be on the roof of the MDUs!. In some locations you’ll be able to hack through the wood directly into the MDU structure.
The garage offers no protection to the MDU structures, and in fact seems to encourage malicious activity. Maybe on Monday I’ll take a picture and post it to show what I mean. Seems a little strange. Thoughts?

but then again... when can't you hack through wood walls to get inside... be'n up high doesn't help or hurt?
plus it's been my experience that it's hard to build a 3 story parking garage out of wood
