I want to design and build a wood crib to store logs for my woodstove. Something that looks nicer than the blue tarp special I have now. I have green split logs that need to be seasoned. My stove is small – Jotul F3CB – takes about 18″ logs max, I like 16″ to make it easier.
I want to build something nicely detailed, pleasing to look at, and functional.
1) any pictures you can post of something you have seen or built?
2) any suggestions on design features for functionality – airflow vs. shelter? any worries about rot or insects? Materials to use?
My initial thoughts are something that can hold 2+ cords, “New Englandy” looking with shingle roof / walls, and something with dividers to separate out different “batches” of logs.
Thanks
