Have a room 15′ x 13′ with 9.5″ Boise Cascade 45 series joists 16″ oc that run across the 15′ span. Looks to be 1/480 design. The underside of the joists are open. Joists are supported by 6′ plates at each end. The floor is sheathed with 23/32″ OSB glued/nailed per code. I would like to run a 3/4″ engineered floor – (5″ wide Baltic ply base with 4mm veneer) parallel to the joists for visual reasons. Floor will be stapled/glued. Should I add a 3/8″ ply subfloor, glued/nailed? I have access to the underside so would it be as good to add 2x strapping on 24″ centers perpendicular to the joists to stiffen the floor? This is an expensive floor so I want to make sure it’s done right.
Thanks
