Hi all
I need a wood that’s good for a wet area of a shower.
Won’t be in contact with the water, but for ceiling, and access covers.
I was looking at a narrow bead board, but available locally in pine or fir.
The yard also has plain Mahagony and cedar, that I’d need to mill and bead.
I’d need to look out of the area for anything different.
Any ideas what is the best choice of the above or what should I look for out of the area?
Jeff

Does it have to be wood? Azek makes a nice bead board product.
No, doesn't need to be wood, I'll look up Azek.
And see if it's available around here.

Redwood is what I'd like, but no where to be found here in Vermont.
If it's redwood you want, come on over to Albany, you will find it there.

Where in Albany?
I'm over there pretty often.

I will have to find out. I figure if I can find it in Utica, Albany is sure to have some. Maybe Chicago Mike can help.
Curtis Lumber Yard would carry redwood, just off the Northway, north of Albany, can't think of the town right now. They do have multiple locations. Call information 1-518 555-1212.
Teak. Great on boats.
If it's to be painted Azek is the way to go.
Here's unpainted Azek I did -

I 2nd Azek beadboard or the like.
Cypress is rot resistant, easy to work and very inexpensive. I use it often for outdoor projects.

Sean, you must be in the southern half of the country. Cypress is usually only available here up north in specialty stores or by special order. I've heard it's nice to work with though.
