Having a great week…. but anyway…. tree fell on summer house and I needed to get it tight to the weather. Why is it that company would pay others to make emergency repair but my time and efforts appear not to be covered. Try and find someone to deal with this issue, it was difficult. Tree guy was great, he had done other work for me. The rest was up to me, most contacters are “builders” in the area and not prone to do repair work.

Company policies are different I guess. Mine allowed me to do hail repair at the insurance allotments. Even suggested and allowed the normal 10%/10% Overhead markup.

They require you to protect the building from further damage but... can't tell you who might do the work because you might not "feel" comfortable with that person. So... maybe I'll just bill it out and see what happens.
My familiarity with ins. companies are that you call for board up and the bill is submitted for pmt. However, there are companies that will send their authorized installers to do it. Usually just a call to your agent.
In our case, once he found out I have a contracting business, he suggested the arrangement with payment.

I submitted a bill, I have a handyman service and am not totally unable to do the work. The issues are that I have a deductible and the location is several hours away and in another state, so... I want to use a local contractor to make the repairs. Several of the repairs are structural and while I feel confident doing the work the insurance company will probably require a fully licenced contractor.

Well, I know I was surprised with the way I was treated. I have all my insurance with them, might have made a difference. They certainly knew I was contractor insured. Hope all turns out to your benefit with little or no headaches.Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
