I have a basement workshop and my house has an oil fired furnace and gas water heater in a separate room of the basement. I am thinking of converting the dryer to gas, but it is in the main workshop area. I now have a dedicated dust collector, but I am wondering about issues with gas appliances and workshop dust. Any reason for concern if most of it is kept to the dust collection system? Thanks for any input.

This is really a non-issue. By the time you had enough dust in the air for it to catch fire, you would have long since passed out.
You probably wouldn't want to put your finishing area near a gas appliance, but sawdust won't be a problem - except for the mess it's gonna make. - lol
