Hello,
Soon I will be rebuilding my front porch on my 1890’s Queen Anne. I don’t like the look of wolmanized lumber and I would like to wrap all of the visible parts such as the posts, front and side bandboards, stair stringers, etc. with another type of wood like cedar, cypress, etc. Any suggestions for the correct procedure for doing this thing and which type of wood would be best . Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks,
Danny

Don't wrap or you'll trap water. Replace instead.
Any real wood should be backprimed. Where possible, use slim shim material to allow air behind.
GP Primetrim is a good choice for some of this facing work.
OK, I misunderstood.
The new will be PT and you just want to make it look better. We trim out with GP Primetrim. Read the instructions for using it.Excellence is its own reward!
