Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

All my Apple support for 3 years now has been based in USA. I didn't know this was not the norm. Is some Apple support outsourced to foreign lands? I really don't know.
Bill
Yes alot of it is
depends on when u call I think or if there is a us call overload.
some apple is in canada. all apple support has been good.Quickbooks use of India has been a bitch topic on many Quick books forums
I screw my mac up all the time, it was hard, but I have learned to speak Canadien. Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
God say, "No." Abe say, "What?"
God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61."
I guess I'm lucky. Growing up watching TV has made me bilingual and I didn't even know it eh/huh. ;-)

At work we pay extra for 'gold' Dell support. 'gold' translates to 'white american guy'.

Do you really mean to imply that white Americans provide better service than non-white Americans?
I have no qualms with the use of "guy" because there are many contexts where we use that term to mean male or female.

The topic of this thread is american tech support vs overseas support. In my experience it doesn't matter how expert a customer service tech is if you can't understand them and they can't understand you. The only exageration is the 'white' part. Born in the US even with a heavy southern drawl will get you fixed faster than a PhD whose thickly accented language is nearly impossible to understand.jt8

I figured it was hyperbole, but it made me a little uncomfortable to see it in print because it might reinforce stereotypical notions that a some readers might have. Or, it could be taken as quite the insult.
By the way, I agree about American-based support. There is a commonality of language AND culture that makes communication easier.

Yep, thought a lot about this today as I drove my Japanese made pick up to work to cut some Canadian cut lumber, milled by German made sawmills out of trees felled by a Swedish saw, with my Chinese assembled saw that has a Mexican made blade, and picked up my Taiwanese made nailer and a stick or to of Indian made nails all the while making sure I didn't scratch up the Italian Tile laid on the Australian made underlayment and making time to move things out of the way for the Danish made cabinets to be stored.
Yessur I thought alot about it today..
not sure this really will mean anything. Sounds like an advertising gimmick to me. There are plenty of people here in America that I can't understand. Natives, transplants, whatever... Nationalistic sentiment aside, I don't care where they are if I can understand them and they can fix my problem...
