you guys know habitat…right?

hfhcarp10 | Posted in Construction Techniques on April 18, 2004 06:30am

Just want to thank all who posted to concrete problem.  Habitat is and has been for the last 11 years a rewarding and eye-opening experience.  I highly recommend it for all you carps with big hearts – emphasis on the big pumper!  You’ve got love solving building problems, working with beginners, fighting with an administration that couldn’t tell a 2X6 from pry bar, and know homelessness one way or another.

Been here 2 weeks and what a resource I’ve found.  Dudes———–I hear the squabbling, whining, fighting, bragging and crappin.  Man, you guys have a genuine community here.  Ever check out some of the other boards; that’s just what they are—bored!  If anyone is interested in hearing a newcomer’s view of breakin…..

listen…………….appreciate the unbelievable information source I stumbled on two weeks ago.  It would have taken me endless phone options at the detention service, or building compliance dept.,….or how many trips to the library or book store to gather the info I got here?

hfhcarp10’s code of conduct:  Guys, I’m 34, a tireless mental health worker and a builder for non-profit.  I know a lot of

and I need to learn even more.  The level of knowledge here is something I won’t honk at in traffic.  If I  had one suggestion in regard to posting etiqit it would be:  read and listen before you respond——–there aren’t too many

heads posting here.  From what I’ve seen in the time I’ve spent here most of you guys know your

.

……..so why diss a poster for being off by 1/64th?  It’s insulting and discouraging, and of course – personal.

Example:  After loosing too many battles for the sake of homeowners, this time I’ll be armed with pro opinions, demonstrated clearly on my laptop at Monday’s HFH crew leader meeting.  “Oh, so you want to have a crew sparge on a coat of cream to fix this problem———–check out these posts from a respected board and reconsider……….!”

see what I mean, see what a great board this is?………and most importantly, ya’ll…

        Ha, no.

Was just wondering about what thread had the 1/64th you mentioned.

        Holy Cow!

Keep in mind I'm new-------I'm not judging.   The 1/64 remark is a reference to a response to a post where some poor meat wack makes a good point but perhaps he left something out and he gets hammered.  This is a huge board, there's gonna be the less thans and those who are learning and forget to cross a T.

But it's probably the nature of the beast, and like any conglomerate that gets bigger than itself, eventually boggs down with the weight of it all.

          can't sleep, Carl

Ok, I'd said something about framing to a 64th sometime this past week or so in a humorous vein that might not have been plainly read as such.

I thought maybe that was the post.

Sleep?.... don't need no friggin' sleep!!!

            Holy Cow!

Alright, but the next time I'm charging ya.

I didn't read it.  If I had I wouldn't have busted your walnuts.  Not here to grade anyone's papers.

Rez is a wierd hour dood....Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming....                                        WOW!!!   What a Ride!
