Been using a kerosene heater this winter in my newly placed and textured drywalled and painted whitewhite walls and ceilings.
Those tiny dark spots mentioned in a different post a while back suddenly appeared on every exterior wall sheetrock screw. Polka dotted walls amd trim.
Is repainting the only option?
I hate it when that happens.

Ignoring it always worked really well for me.
Ya I considered that. Not like I need another project.
In your case, it's more likely soot collections than mildew. You might be able to wash it off.
Excellence is its own reward!
Check at your local hardware or paint shop. There are special sponge rubber blocks that are used dry and remove soot quite well. About $4. I have seen them used to rehabilitate house after a fire. It's like a large eraser. The name was something like stain eraser, magic wipe or some such. A bit of elbow grease to use them but the results were good. Being a dry process it also doesn't seem to spread or embed the stains deeper.
let me know how it goes if you try it out.
