Hello to all,
Has anyone heard of “Zip” roof and wall sheathing? How is it and are there anythings I might want to watch out for or stay clear of?

zip is great. 9/16 wall board osb. 5/8 advantech roof board. both coated. no house wrap and no felt just tape the joints. i've been using it for about two years now. cost is higher but labor goes down a bit. two problems 1. tape is not cheap 2. roof board is a little slippery on higher pitched roofs. don't forget the tape gun.
When I used it to frame my house, one of the workers had some type of reaction to it. He complained about swelling in the face or eye irritation from the saw dust. I forget the exact complaint. It didn't have any effects on me or the other framer.
When he framed another house with plywood and osb, he felt much better and didn't have any irritations. The next house he framed had plywood and osb, but the builder used the ZIP roof sheathing. And guess what. The symptoms came back again.
I liked it so well, when I used it on my personal house 2 years ago, that I told my sales rep to tell Huber that I had a complaint. When he asked what the problem was, I told him the stuff faded, and I was going to use it for my finished roof. One side looked bright red and the other a burnt orange. He got a kick out of it, but I don't think he called them. I ended up having to put on 30 yr. shingles I hadn't budgeted for. All kidding aside, I love it. The tape gun takes a bit to get used to. It is not as smooth as they like to think it is. MY roof consisted of 12/12, 4/12 and 6/12, and, yes it is slicker than ply or OSB. If it is wet, you will fall. So be careful. One of my contractor buddies said he had just been talked into buying a button-cap nailer when they came out with this. Now the button-cap nailer is obsolete. Nothing like not having to put down felt though. I hate that stuff.
