After the kids moved out, the homeowners wished to enliven an awkward front door, and make better use of a under-utilized Den. This 70’s home included the typical elements of that era, low ceilings, cheap siding, car-oriented entry, and lack of connection to the landscape. Perhaps unconventional, we removed the exterior walls and extended the roof to create an elegant covered porch, open deck and entryway, allowing the home to flow better, connect to the landscape, and take advantage of neglected views.
