People who do renovation work or build rustic new houses are often in the market for black hardware — hinges, latches or just ordinary nuts, washers and bolts. But the right sizes may not be available in black, and when they are, they’re more expensive than their silvery counterparts. I permanently blacken my hardware with gun blueing.
