This is the heaviest circular saw we tested. It offers both great features and a few drawbacks. It did an excellent job of moving dust out the rear port. Unique to this saw is a rear ball hinge, which allows the front, rather than the back, of the aluminum plate to drop. The plate operated smoothly in our tests and produced one of the stiffest bases in the field. Also unique to this saw is a front handle that doubles as the blade-depth knob. This is a clever feature, but the handle interferes with the blade sightline. Easily read scales allow accurate depth-of-cut adjustment without a tape measure, and quick release levers make these adjustments possible without moving one’s right hand off the handle. Curiously, this saw lacks a positive bevel stop at 45 degrees. Its deepest bevel capacity is 1-3/4 in. at 51 degrees.
