I am searching for an article about a home built in Hawaii. It was a craftsman style home with a heavy timber front entrance. An exploded view of the construction techniques used was also part of this article. I believe the wood used was teak or purpleheart. The house was built on a plantation in the hills. If anyone out there has an idea about the issue number please list in this forum. Thank you, 7030bob.

Greetings bob,
As a first time poster Welcome to Breaktime.
Might the article you seek have been a timberframe in the Caribbean back in 199O issue #57?
Thanks rez. I know the issue that you have provided. That was a home built of purplheart with some joinery techniques. This was definitely a home in Hawaii. The home was fairly large. It may have been in a homes issue. Must have been around '92 - '95. Trying to show a client an example of a good Greene and Greene low roof pitch entry with large "simple" supporting columns.
Thank you 7030bob
If you're sure it was a FineHomebuilding issue and you can describe more details I'll take another stab at it.
Using the search function on FHB mainpage it shows little under Hawaii.
The more details provided the better the search possibilities.
Cheers
