greetings
I’m building a deck, and because of span/load and a desire to mimic existing conditions I want to support it with steel columns rather than
wood posts.
I was planning to use 3″ (3 1/2″actual) lollys and bury the bottom 10″ or so in the top of the concrete pier. My concern is about longetivity and the possibly of rust? Any comments?

Hi Jim,
Before the rust has that much of an effect,(as long as you stay on top of it) you will replace the decking a dozen times or so, first.
