Earlier this year, I read a short article about a 3’4″ module. Would like to review that, but can’t find it. Does anyone know if it was in Fine Homebuilding? Will appreciate any help in locating more information about this module.

Not sure what kind of module you're talking about. A meter is just over 39", wonder if you were reading something about construction in the rest of the world where they use the metric system?
No, it was multiples of 3'4" and 1'8". The author said studs 20" apart would accomodate windows and doors without extra studs. Sounded reasonable when I read it, but now I can't remember all of the rationale.
My first guess is that it's just another ridiculous article by folks who identified a problem that isn't there. But, I won't make that judgment until I know more.It sounds like the author wants to substitute 19.4 as the default spacing and is talking 20" in round terms. I'm willing to hear more.fka (formerly known as) blue
